Movie Log 🍿 - Interstellar, 2014 - ★★★

I really like the first 40 minutes or so, and watching the family navigate every day life. I found myself way more interested in the story on Earth than out in the great beyond.

Matthew McConaughey is easily the most interesting character, but it’s not saying much when most of everyone else in the cast is acting like a cardboard box with very little emotion or life through their character.

Director Nolan really swung for the stars, no pun intended, on this one. I feel like he really wanted to bring his own perspective and create some thing like ‘2001’ or ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind” but I think it didn’t quite sync up in the end.

The middle part of the film gets really mushy for me with some pretty abstract science.

The ending of the film is really spacey — geez, I can’t seem to stop with the space puns LOL — and I still can’t quite fully grasp the significance.

Zimmer’s score is freaking epic!
