After only seeing the trailer once a few months ago, I thought I knew the general story going into it. But as in typical M. Night Shyamalan fashion, there were plenty of 🤯 moments — especially in the last 10 minutes!
The camera work and filming style were particularly striking. Lots of intimate close-up shots, free-hand shakycam rigs to express panic and chaos, and sweeping landscape shots of the beautiful beaches. A great sound mix as well.
Overall, I’d put this in the middle-to-low section of his filmography. It’s an interesting story full of lots of twists and turns.
